Founding Values and Commitments

Healthy Hive was established in 2010 by Owner / Principal Consultant Sue Hemphill. Healthy Hive’s head office is in Winnipeg, on Treaty One Territory traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples and the homeland of the Métis Nation, with water sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

Since the early1990’s our Founder has been an engaged and committed Settler-Ally both participating and facilitating in the reconciliation and decolonizing process. We demonstrate our commitment through: continuous learning about the shared history of Indigenous peoples and settlers, acknowledging and standing in solidarity for the honouring and resolution of all the Treaties, practicing personal reflection on privilege, working in partnership to dismantle unjust systems and aspiring daily to practice the seven sacred teachings of love, respect, truth, humility, wisdom, honesty, and courage,

Recognizing and included in the partnership work for justice, equity and inclusion, Healthy Hive works with and for newcomers, 2SLGBTQIA+, Deaf and disabled communities and organizations, providing services that support leaders and organizations in progressing towards the aims of justice, equity and inclusion for all peoples.

From the team of Healthy Hive, Interlake Workplace Wellness Retreats is a unique/ first of its kind service supporting and fostering workplace wellness for teams of all types and sizes.we collaborate with you to custom-design fun and restorative day -long or multi-day retreats for your workplace group.
